Unveiling Jesus

Beholding Jesus in His Amazing Grace

Part 1: OUr Core Values

Part 3: Our Church Structure

Our core values

Jesus is full of grace (the unmerited favor of God) and truth (the reality of who God is). If anyone wants to know what the Father is like, he can simply look at Jesus. His grace is greater than all our sin. Where sin abounds, grace superabounds. (John 1:14-17; Hebrews 1:3; Colossians 1:15; Romans 5:20)

We are saved by the grace of God through faith alone in Jesus Christ. Each person must believe in Jesus Christ and receive the free gift of Christ’s righteousness to be saved. (Romans 3:21-27; Ephesians 2:4-8; Acts 13:38-39; Romans 10:9-10; John 14:6; 2 Corinthians 5:18-21)

We are forgiven of all sins past, present, and future. We are not forgiven as we go or some time in the future. All our sins have been paid for by the blood of Jesus. The wages of sin is death, and that has been accomplished through the body and blood of Jesus once for all.  (Romans 6:23; Hebrews 10:12; Ephesians 1:7; Colossians 2:13)

Through faith in Christ we become the perfect righteousness of God as a gift. We did not do anything to earn our righteousness so we can’t do anything to lose it. (Romans 3:21,22; Romans 5:17; 2 Corinthians 5:21; Philippians 3:9)

The believer has been released 100% from all old covenant law and has come into the new way of the Spirit - the New Covenant. The old covenant law has no place in the life of a New Covenant believer. We live by the power of Christ’s life from within. The law makes everyone guilty and brings consciousness of sin. Grace makes us righteous and brings consciousness of Jesus. (Galatians 2:20; Colossians 2:13-15; Romans 7:1-6; Galatians 3:24, 25; Hebrews 8:6, 7:18,19; Romans 3:19-20; Romans 5:19)

The believer has been fully circumcised of his sinful nature and has been given a new nature - God’s nature. At the core of his identity, the believer no longer has a nature to sin, and he has full dominion over sin because he is under grace, not under law. Every believer is joined to the Lord and is one spirit with the Lord for eternity. (Colossians 2:11; Romans 6:6; 2 Peter 1:4; 2 Corinthians 5:17; Romans 6:14; 1 Corinthians 6:17)

Every believer has been cleansed (washed of their sins), sanctified (made holy), and justified (made righteous) through the blood of Jesus once for all. These verbs are in a tense that means a one time action, never to be repeated. The progressive nature of the Christian life is the progressive manifestation of this inward reality. (1 Corinthians 6:11-12; Revelation 1:5-6; Hebrews 10:10-12)

The believer’s reborn spirit is now perfect and complete in Christ. Completeness is not our goal. Completeness is our spiritual reality. The moment we are born again, we receive the fullness of the Godhead because we are in Christ. As Jesus is, so are we in this world. The more we behold Him, the more we will experience an outward transformation of Christian maturity. (Hebrews 10:14; Colossians 2:9-10; 1 John 4:17; 2 Corinthians 3:18)

There is no judgment and no condemnation now or ever for the believer in Jesus Christ. The new covenant says that God does not count our sins against us or even remember our sins. Why? Because the judgment and punishment that we deserved fell on Jesus Christ for our sakes. (1 John 4:17-18; Hebrews 9:28; Romans 5:9; John 3:16-18; Romans 8:1; John 5:24; Romans 4:6-8; Hebrews 8:12-13)

Every believer is forever a son of God and a joint-heir with Christ.  (Romans 8:15, 29; Galatians 4:5-31; Romans 8:17)

We Believe in one God, who exists in three Persons: the Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

We Believe the Bible is God’s Word. It is inspired by the Holy Spirit, accurate, and holy.

We Believe sin has separated us all from God, and that only through Jesus Christ can we be reconciled to God.

We Believe Jesus Christ is both God and Man. He was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary. He led a sinless life, took all our sins upon Himself, died and rose again. Today, He is seated at the right hand of the Father as our High Priest and Mediator.

We Believe that salvation is the free gift of God to man received by grace through faith in Jesus Christ.

We Believe that water baptism is an outward act that demonstrates a believer's identification with the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus.

We Believe the Holy Spirit is our Comforter. He guides us in all areas of our lives. He also blesses us with spiritual gifts and empowers us to yield the fruit of the Spirit.

We Believe the Lord's Supper is a celebration of Jesus’ death and our remembrance of Him.

We Believe God wants to transform, heal, and prosper us so that we can live blessed and victorious lives that will impact and help others.

We Believe we are called to preach the gospel to all nations.

We Believe our Lord Jesus Christ is coming back again just as He promised.

Our Church Structure

Following are the foundational scriptures of our church structure:

“No other foundation can anyone lay than that which is laid, which is Jesus Christ.” (1 Corinthians 3:11)
“And He put all things under His feet, and gave Him [Jesus Christ] to be head over all things to the church, which is His body, the fullness of Him who fills all in all.” (Ephesians 1:22-23)
“And He [Jesus Christ] is the head of the body, the church, who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, that in all things He may have the preeminence.” (Colossians 1:18)
“For I determined to know nothing among you except Jesus Christ, and Him crucified.” (1 Corinthians 2:2)

Jesus is the center of everything. Everything is peripheral to Him. Every believer is one with Jesus. No one stands between God and the believer. Every believer is a minister with spiritual gifts and anointing from the Holy Spirit. Every believer can hear the voice of the Holy Spirit. Every believer has the authority of Jesus.

Jesus is first in everything:

  • He is firstborn of many brethren - every believer is a son or daughter of God.
  • He is the King of kings - every believer is a king in God’s kingdom.
  • He is the Lord of lords - every believer is a lord in God’s kingdom.
  • He is our High Priest - every believer is a priest unto God.

Life Springs Church is overseen by a group of elders whose desire is for the body of Christ to be built up and encouraged in their faith and in their relationship with the Lord. The elder team, Mark and Tricia Gunn and Bill and Von Jenkins, desires to see each and every believer walking in their identity in Christ.
